January 21, 2008 - GoLife Mobile Releases Beta Version of its Life Operating System™ Framework
Hillsboro, Oregon, January 21, 2008 – GoLife Mobile, with its mission to transform “dumb phones” into powerful social lifestyle devices, announced today its beta release of the GoLife Mobile framework. The initial Beta launch consists of an innovative object oriented framework which is device neutral and enables the rapid creation and distribution of personal lifestyle widgets. The technology is proven and available to beta testers through two lifestyle widget applications, mobile-to-anything messaging, and supported by an interstitial advertising engine and business model.
The mobile application space represents the next technological and financial frontier. In June 2007, CITA research projected the United States mobile market at 243.4 million wireless subscribers or 81% total penetration. A study by Telephia estimated 150 million have internet capability with mobile internet access growing at a rate of 24% a year. Compass Intelligent quoted $3.8 billion spent in the US on mobile applications, device portals and games in 2007. A recent study by JupiterResearch strongly suggested that browser alternatives would stimulate mobile Internet adoption. “Browser alternatives such as widgets or applets, which are mini applications that allow for content to be easily accessed …with just a few clicks, can meet consumer demands for quick access to information,” said David Schatsky, President of JupiterResearch.
"GoLife Mobile has created a framework for a Life Operating System™ that will make mobile devices all over the world more useful in everyday life," said James Whitley, CEO of GoLife Mobile Corporation. "The GoLife framework is built for how we live and provides the foundation to support an infinite number of applications for users and marketing channels for advertisers. We move far beyond simple mobile WAP pages and provide a feature rich graphical interface in a very small payload. We have two applications out and more early examples of our technology in-the-works."
"For mobile lifestyle to truly exist, anyone in society should have the opportunity to participate in their own financial and technical terms, whether you have software development skills or not," stated Mounir Shita, Founder and President of Technology. "Our architecture significantly reduces the traditional hurdles in mobile application development so that in the future even a non-technical person will be able to create their own compelling life-style widgets."
In Q1 2008, GoLife will release additional features which will bring mobile lifestyle technology to social networking sites around the world. This is in addition to other mobile widget applications currently in development on the GoLife Mobile framework by invited third-parties.
